Yes we do. We are able to make models, based on the budget, that can accommodate the needs of all our local community members. Please contact us to further information.
Most container builds will be completed in about 60 days. Many factors can affect this timeline but if we have all the components in-hand the process should complete within that timeline.
At this time we cannot offer financing. We suggest you contact your bank or local credit union for their assistance.
We require 50% down and then incremental, scheduled payments along the build process. Once your project is complete we will have you view the finished product, sign off on it and then the final payment will be due. We will then schedule your delivery out to you.
Yes. All items are covered by the manufactures listed warranty and our workmanship is covered for a 1 year period. Specifics will be discussed prior to the purchasing process.
We exclusively use 40' x 8' x 9' 6" tall decommissioned refrigerated containers. This is due to their exceptional factory insulated properties of R30 within only 3" of wall thickness and all metal construction. The interior skin is stainless steel, the floor is high-strength aluminum and the exterior skin is highly durable, anti-rust Corten steel. These properties insure longevity and structural integrity.
Yes. We will work closely with you to insure your vision for your container home is met as best we can. These changes may add cost and /or time to your particular model and will require your pre-production approval.
Our units are considered portable, temporary housing and therefore, do not require the standard permits. We build to all Hawaii County codes to insure quality and safety. Both electrical and plumbing is signed off by a local licensed professional.
The safety of our staff and your family is vitally important to us therefore, we clean the interior and exterior with a 50 clorox/50 water mix prior to beginning the conversion process.
Yes, that is an option but only after we deliver to your location. This also may affect the warranty based on where we stop and you take over. Damage to electrical and plumbing is our main concern.
We source our containers from the 3 major ports on the West Coast and there is no shortage for us to select from.
To help reduce the possibility of any kind of pest infestation we use steel stud framing. We also build stud-offset walls to aid in noise reduction and use environmental friendly sound deadening Rockwool insulation.
Absolutely. We can build-out most any kind of container structure you desire. Workshops, construction site offices, grow farms, etc etc.
Yes. Off-grid models for AG land placement have far fewer restrictions while some gird-tied models require specialized planning for existing structure hook-up and possible permit compliance. We can discuss those details with you if desired.
There are a few choices for off-grid waste management. We have chosen the Laveo no-flush toilet for our units. If you prefer another system, like incineration or composting, we will credit the cost of the Laveo toilet towards your desired system.
We have partnered with Signature Solar in Texas for all our solar needs. They can configure systems to meet any solar requirement with quality EG4 batteries and EG4 inverters, plus many choices of solar panels.
Foundation prep is not included in our pricing but we will assist you in locating a local grading professional should your project require one. Typically, our containers only need support at the four corners but we do suggest one pair of mid-supports. Standard cement piers or 16"x16"x6" foundation blocks are quite sufficient for most installations.
Standard delivery is included in our pricing for the local Kohala area. Both slid-off or side, lift-off trucks are available depending on terrain and space restrictions. Cranes or any other specialized equipment needs are not included.
Yes you can but you must be absolutely certain of your color choice because a re-painting fee will be quite expensive.
Yes you can. We suggest only using a type of cement board. This is due to a combination of factors in Hawaii....harsh weather, fire prevention and termite infestations.
